21 year old African American Model. Josianne lives in Texas but travels often. Was born Congo (central africa) forced to flee her country in the 80s. She a proud of her heritage, as she should be. I would like to quote this passage from her myspace page because it’s too much for me to try to put in my own words. She is very well spoken and recalls well enough herself : “There has been a civil war that has been going on for decades in my homeland. It officially ended in 2003, but the killing and rampaging of villages still continues. Congo is a very rich country due to its resources such as Tin, Ivory (Elephant tusk), Berelium and that ‘bling bling’ (Diamonds). There are alot of people who work in the mines of Congo for allittle then a dollar a day and even have to bribe currupted officials and leaders to sell their findings. Ever so often you see a news report on Congo that shows the war, endangered species and all the other unfortunate happenings that occur in my homeland. You have to ask yourself, Why is Africa one of the richest continents in the world but so unstable at the same time?? Altogether my life in Africa and America has been filled with unbelievable tales of poverty, abuse, famine and betrayal. I could sit here for hours and type away everything but then that would defeat the purpose of me ever writing a book… ” Although Josianne seemed to have went through a lot in her young years I can tell she is still very down to earth.

1)Have you ever experienced racism in modeling and what happened?

Yes! It happens all the time! One would think that since it is 2008 we’d be over it but it’s still alive and happening.. I speak very proper English so when you’re on the phone with me, you would not know I live in 3rd Ward so people tend to think I am white till I show up for the casting call and get treated badly cause they are suprised I’m not..This is not the only occassion, there has been plenty more but there are always going to be prejudice people in this world..!

2) What type of guys do you usually date?
